Barracks soldiers to hold farewell parade

Soldiers from the Second Fusiliers at Hounslow BarracksSoldiers from Hounslow Barracks will take part in a farewell parade next Thursday, March 5, before heading off to Afghanistan.

More than 300 troops from the Second Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, will march along Hounslow High Street and up to the Civic Centre in Lampton Road.

They will set off from Hounslow Bus Garage at 4pm, pausing at the War Memorial to pay their respects to fallen comrades.

During their year in Hounslow, the Second Fusiliers have taken part in the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace as well as running a number of local schemes like football training for youngsters.

They have teamed up with the council to offer a 'Junior Leadership Package' next Tuesday and Wednesday, including a mixture of fitness training and lectures.
