Civic Centre chiefs have announced plans to freeze council tax for the fourth year running, but critics claim the move will come at a cost.
Parking charges will rise five per cent and subsidies on school uniforms for the poorest familes are set to be ended to finance the zero per cent rise. Subsidies for community groups using school facilities will also be slashed, under the proposals, leading to higher charges.
Police have been granted new powers to move on potential troublemakers in a bid to crack down on antisocial behaviour in Cranford.
From Tuesday, cops can ask anyone whose behaviour is likely to be threatening to passers-by to leave the area for at least 24 hours. If they return within that period they can be arrested.
Musicians from places of worship in Hounslow will be taking part in an exciting and unusual concert on Saturday 21 November. The groups, from St Michael and St Martin's Church, the Laxmi Narayan Hindu Temple in Neville Close and the Sikh Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Alice Way are presenting music as heard in worship in 'Music from the Faiths'. Other contributions will include Anglican and Russian Orthodox Church Choirs, Jewish music, plus the Muslim call to prayer and Quaker silence.
